Welcome to my Personal Page for the Canary Challenge 2013
My name is Brady Quist. I am getting my PhD in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. I do my graduate research on MRI techniques to improve the speed and diagnostic ability of MRI. As part of my research will hopefully help improve the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, cancer research and funding is very important to me. In that vein, I will be participating in the Canary Challenge, a premier cycling and fundraising event to benefit the Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI), world class cancer care on the Peninsula. 100% of all funds raised by the Canary Challenge go directly to the cancer research and innovative clinical programs at the SCI. The funds I raise will stay right here, helping with prevention, early detection and treatment for this disease.
Consider these facts:
- Cancer strikes about one in three women and one in two men in the U.S.
- In 2011, new cancer cases are estimated to total 164,000 in CA and 1.6 million in the US.
- Chances of survival are greater if cancer is diagnosed when still confined to the organ of origin (stage I). Survival rates decline as tumors enlarge and spread regionally (stages II, III) or distantly (stage IV).
I will raise at least $100. I’m very excited about doing it because many of us have been affected by cancer, either personally or through a family member or friend. I can’t do it without your help.
Please join me in supporting the Stanford Cancer Institute by making a donation and helping me reach (and hopefully pass) my fundraising goal.
Thank you in advance for partnering with me.
